Enrollment starts Monday for Moore Norman Technology Center's summer youth academy.
Enrollments may be taken by phone at 364 5763, ext. 7260; online at enroll@mntechnology.com; in-person at MNTC's Information and Enrollment Center, inside Main Entrance B at the Franklin Road Campus, 4701 12th Ave. NW in Norman, or in-person at the South Penn Campus, SW 134th and Penn in south Oklahoma City.
The complete list of classes and descriptions is available for download online at www.mntechnology.com. Classes are $70 and MNTC provides all materials and supplies. Students are in the week-long classes from either 9 a.m. to noon, or 1 to 4 p.m. The only class fee exceptions are the MED Camp and the CSI Camp, which are $125 each, and students are in class for daylong sessions Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Students ages 9 to 16 have more than 120 classes to choose from in technical and engineering, health and medical, personal interest and more. The first sessions begin June 9 and the last sessions run the week of July 7.
Classes are age appropriate, organizers said, and instruction is delivered through guided activities, hands-on practice and lab activities. Age groups are divided into 9- to 11-year-olds, and 12- to 14-year-olds. The only exceptions are the HD Videography and Car Care Basics classes, specifically for 15- to 16-year-olds.
