Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday for the municipal General Elections for Lexington, Noble, Moore, Newcastle and the special school elections for Midwest City-Del City, Mustang and Little Axe Schools.

In Moore, only Ward 3 is up for election. In-person absentee voting is also available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the Election Board office, 122 S. Peters. County precincts voting Tuesday are Pct. 1, 5, 7, 23, 25, 29, 34, 36, 38, 39,47, 48, 49, 57, 60, 62, 64, 65, 66, 78, 84, 87 and 89.

Gaddie on menu

Keith Gaddie, an OU professor of political science, will talk about Barack Obama's first 80 days as president at Friday's luncheon meeting of the Cleveland County Democratic Party.

The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn, I-35 and Robinson Street.

Gaddie, who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, is a popular political analyst for local, national and international media outlets. In addition he has authored or co-authored 14 books covering national and southern politics.

Lunch for this event begins at 11:30 a.m. with the speaker beginning about noon. Cornbread and beans or sandwich bar with chips are $7 including tea, coffee or water, tax and gratuity. The meeting is open to the public.

Chairman Jones in Norman

Gary Jones, state chairman of the Republican party, will be the featured speaker at Tuesday's 11:30 a.m. meeting of the Cleveland County luncheon club. Cost is $12.

Guest speaker will be State Party Chairman Gary Jones. National Committeeman James Dunn and National Committeewoman Carolyn McLarty will also be speaking. They will be talking about the direction of the party since Michel Steele was elected director of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
