The new Blanchard Farmers’ Market will open 7:30 a.m. May 3 at 222 S. Main, two blocks south of Route 62 in Blanchard. Growers and farmers from the Blanchard area will have a variety of vegetables, bedding plants, eggs and farm crafts.
The market is an Oklahoma Grown Market, which means that all produce has been grown in Oklahoma.
Those interested in selling at the market will need to join the Blanchard Farmers’ Market Association and allow enough time for a farm inspection by Market Manager Larry Hocking before their first selling day. Backyard gardeners as well as market growers are welcome to sell their produce.
The Blanchard Market is sponsored by the Blanchard Chamber of Commerce and Charlie and Sherry Thompson. Member applications may be picked up at the Chamber office, 113 W. Broadway, or by calling Dev Vallencourt, secretary, at 485-2943.
All growers should attend the Association meeting 6:30 p.m. April 24 at the Blanchard branch of the First National Bank to plan for opening day. For more information, call 485-2943.
