PFLAG to meet Thursday at church
PFLAG Norman will meet 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 1801 W. Brooks St. The Rev. Amy Venable, pastor of the church, will speak about spirituality and homosexuality.
"What does the Bible actually say about homosexuality? Or heterosexuality? What messages did most of us receive about our bodies from our faith communities as we grew up? Rev. Venable poses these questions and asks us to think about how we live in modern times when we look for guidance from lessons written in an ancient time," a PFLAG spokesperson said.
"Denominations differ in their answers and, therefore, their acceptance of gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered (GLBT) persons."
A support group will meet 8 p.m. For more information, call 360-4497 or visit www.pflagnorman.org.
