The chance to be Washington Elementary's principal for the day will be raffled off Friday night at the school's Super Kids celebration.
Washington parent Allison Jakus said, "This is the PTA's largest fundraiser for the school year."
Jakus said Friday's events include a silent auction, carnival and raffle prizes. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each, and the child who has the winning number will help principal Dr. Linda Parsons with her duties for one day.
The silent auction will kick-off 10 a.m. Friday in the library, Jakus said. The public is welcome to stop by and bid on auction items in the library. The silent auction will close 8 p.m. Friday.
She said a family membership to the YMCA for one year and a football signed by University of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops and the school's three living Heisman Trophy winners are two of the many items on the auction block.
Jakus said Washington's carnival will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the school. Each class has been put in charge of a booth.
"The goal is to raise $2,000," Jakus said.
She said monies earned from the fundraiser will go toward scholarship for field trips, providing food at school events, playground repairs, outdoor classroom and providing calculators for the math program.
