Norman North Astronomy and 10 Acres Odyssey Astronomy Clubs will present National Astronomy Day with events planned for Saturday. An indoor star party will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday in room N119.
Events inside NNHS include: Star Dome Planetarium, the Spring Sky and a look forward to the Summer Sky, Legends of the Skies, and the presentation of "Lunatics". Additional formal presentations will include Powerpoint presentations on light pollution, equipment for astronomy buffs, how to read star charts and astronomy as a hobby.
The star party will move to the Norman North athletic complex 8-11 p.m. Saturday.
Outdoor events at the athletic complex include viewing the night sky through optical telescopes.
Students and faculty will be available to give tours of the spring constellations and planets. Children must be accompanied by a parent. Bring a flashlight.
