Norman Regional Health System will celebrate National Hospital Week May 11-17.
From nurses and doctors to maintenance staff, housekeeping, food service and clinicians, a multitude of employees help NRHS serve the community each day. During National Hospital Week, NRHS will celebrate its team with special events each day.
The festivities will kick off Monday with Patient Appreciation Day and end Friday with Hero Day. To reflect the true 24-hour nature of a hospital, events will be held so all shifts can attend, which means hosting a cookout at 2 a.m.
More than 300 physicians and 2,800 employees keep NRHS's three campuses running. Norman Regional is a health system comprised of a 337-bed acute care hospital, a 45-bed acute care hospital in Moore, and, slated to be completed in spring 2009, a 129-bed hospital which will include a women's and children's unit, an orthopedics/cardiology tower and an area for neurosurgery.
The hospital has served Norman and the surrounding communities since 1946.
