NEW: Saturday accident kills one

One person died Saturday afternoon as the result of a vehicle crash at the intersection of South Berry Road and West Lindsey Street.
The Norman Police Department, Norman Fire Department and EMSSTAT were dispatched to the wreck at 4:13 p.m. Saturday.
According to a NPD press release, a preliminary investigation revealed a Ford F-150 pickup was traveling southbound on Berry Road when the vehicle failed to stop for a red signal light. The pickup traveled into the intersection and struck a Chevrolet Malibu that was heading eastbound on Lindsey Street.
The press release stated the driver of the pickup was transported by ambulance to Norman Regional Hospital for treatment. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
According to police, two people were inside the Chevrolet Malibu when the wreck occurred. One of the occupants was pronounced dead at the scene and another was taken by ambulance to Norman Regional Hospital for treatment.
Norman police Master Officers Darren Strauss and Brent Barbour are investigating the crash.
