That line would be installed in Norman near 24th Avenue SW and the Canadian River and go under the river toward the McClain County town. A 20-year contract is scheduled to be voted on by the Norman City Council May 26. NEW: Goldsby wants to buy Norman water The Town of Goldsby wants to buy up to 8 million gallons of Norman's treated water per month and has agreed to build a 14,000 foot delivery pipeline.
That line would be installed in Norman near 24th Avenue SW and the Canadian River and go under the river toward the McClain County town. A 20-year contract is scheduled to be voted on by the Norman City Council May 26. Under the contract, Goldsby would pay $2.10 per 1,000 gallons. If Goldsby were to acquire more than 8 million gallons per month and Norman had to buy water from Oklahoma City, Goldsby would pay the rate Oklahoma City charges Norman. Norman utilities director Ken Komiske said Goldsby also has offered to enlarge the line inside Norman from 24th Avenue and Highway 9 to the river from 8 inches to 12 inches, potentially helping customers in the area. City officials estimate the contract will bring in about $75,000 a year in new revenue if Goldsby were to buy 3 million gallons a month. The City of Noble also has inquired about the possibility of acquiring treated water.
