An arrest has been made in the rape of a 16-year-old Norman High School student, while police say the student was not abducted as she first told detectives.
Jackie Ray Sullivan, 31, of Norman, was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center at approximately 10:40 p.m. Wednesday on complaints of first-degree rape and forcible sodomy, police said.
Further investigation of the incident led to Sullivan’s identification late Wednesday, police said. Detectives interviewed Sullivan at the Norman Police Department, and subsequently arrested him. Investigators said no abduction occurred in the case, and all involved parties have been identified. No additional arrests are anticipated at this time, although the investigation is continuing, police said.
According to a police statement released Wednesday, the student was on her lunch break just before noon Tuesday, and was forced into a blue pickup truck by two adult black males. The student said she was driven to the parking lot of an unidentified apartment complex in Norman, where the two men raped her in the pickup, then drove her back to the area from where she was abducted and let her go.
