A mini-Antique Road Show will be a highlight at the upcoming Senior Adult Conference July 22 in Newcastle.

It will be 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle.

The workshop will be led by Ginger Silvia, an antique appraiser from Norman. Attendees can bring their "treasures" for Silvia to examine. Other workshops range from estate planning to travel in Oklahoma.

The conference is hosted jointly by the McClain County OSU Extension Service, McClain County Oklahoma Home and Community Education and the First Baptist Church of Newcastle.

All senior adults are invited to attend, as well as family members, friends or anyone with an interest in senior adult living.

The keynote address will be given by Dr. Robert McArthur, arthritis specialist from the McBride Clinic in Norman. The luncheon speaker will be Kim Lopez with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department.

Participants will have an opportunity to attend three of the following workshops:

· Wills and Estate Planning, taught by Darrell Ford, attorney from Purcell

· Identity Theft, led by Bill Shobe, deputy with the McClain County Sheriff's Department

· Living with Diabetes, instructed by LaDonna Dunlop and Donna Jung, registered dieticians and educators with the OSU Extension Service

· Travel in Oklahoma, with guest speaker Ron Stahl from the television show "Discover Oklahoma"

· Alzheimer Facts, taught by Mark Fried, Director of the Central Oklahoma Alzheimer's Association

· Navigating Medicare, led by Linda Clure, senior health insurance counselor with the Oklahoma Insurance Department

· Fitness for Seniors, with demonstrations by Cindy Merrick from Therapy in Motion

· Long Term Care and Retirement Living, hosted by Chris Finley with the Baptist Retirement Village of Oklahoma State University
