Board seeks successor to Schiller By Meghan McCormick The Norman Transcript Norman Public Schools Board of Education has called for a special meeting 5 p.m. today to consider naming an assistant superintendent of administrative services.
Dr. Richard Schiller, assistant superintendent of administrative services, will retire today after 23 years with the school district. A proposed executive session is listed on the agenda for board members to discuss Schiller’s successor. Once the board returns to open session, they could vote to employ someone to the position. In addition to the executive session, Bill Kaighn, president of Kaighn Associates Architects Inc. will present board members with schematic designs for the primary school that will be built on Truman Elementary School property. The school will house students in grades pre-kindergarten through second grade. The second school is a project that was included in the $43 million bond issue that Norman voters passed in December.
