Noble student chosen for science program

This past week, 12 middle school students from across Oklahoma participated in the first-ever Oklahoma Science Adventure, a week-long science field program created by the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.

Katlin Wallace of Noble was selected to participate in the program, spending the week exploring a variety of “ologies” in the field with scientists from the museum.

The week culminated with an overnight stay at the museum Friday evening.

Students worked in the museum research labs to further study the fossils and specimens that they encountered in their field work.

Students also documented their experiences throughout the week with weblogs, videos and photographs on the museum’s Web site.

The 12 accepted students from communities around the state were selected from more than 130 applicants statewide.
