Published July 14, 2008 10:45 am - Norman has been named the sixth Best Small City to live in by Money magazine. The magazine announced its picks Monday morning on the Today Show. The magazine announced its picks Monday morning on the Today Show. Jean Chatzsky, Money magazine editor, said they considered cities under 300,000 in population with great schools, affordable housing, low crime, strong economies and low commutes. Chatzsky said the University of Oklahoma was a big factor in Norman's quality of life, with about 84,000 people showing up for football games in the fall. She cited starter home costs of about $135,000 and average home costs of $163,000 as big factors in the choice.
