Airman bound over in molestation case

A staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force has been bound over for trial in Cleveland County District Court on two counts of lewd molestation of a minor.
Steven Jay Beacham, 32, Midwest City, was ordered to appear for district court arraignment at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 30, by Special Judge Reg Gaston.
Beacham is accused of molesting an 8-year-old Norman girl at a residence in the 500 block of Meadow Park Drive in March. The girl testified Monday in closed court.
According to court documents, the girl’s mother contacted police, and said her daughter had told her about being sexually abused by the man on two occasions. Once, the girl said she was fondled after being picked up from school. The next time was when she was kneeling in front of the couch, doing her homework, and she said the man kneeled behind her, unzipped his flight suit and molested her.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Victoria Gillispie. Beacham is being represented by Oklahoma City attorney William Campbell.
Also Monday, an Oklahoma City man was bound over on a charge of first-degree rape by instrumentation.
Steven James Garcia, 29, was ordered to appear for district court arraignment at 2 p.m. Aug. 31.
Garcia is alleged to have assaulted a 13-year-old girl at a Moore apartment Feb. 13.
Gillispie is prosecuting the case; Garcia is being represented by attorney Steve Stice.
