MOORE -- Administrative staff at the Moore school district have been relocated to the district's technology center following an electrical fire Tuesday which filled the district's Administrative Service Center will smoke and shut down the building.

No one was injured in the fire.

While the fire was contained to the building's first floor, Moore school superintendent Deborah Arato said it could be quite a while before district personnel are back in the building.

"It looks like we're not going to be back in business there, fully, for maybe two weeks or as long as 30 days," she said. "The electrical panels that burned can't be purchased, they have to be rebuilt."

Arato said the building was down "in terms of all basic functions" Tuesday and staff members worked around the clock to bring the schools computer network and server back on line Wednesday.

"Our server is located on the second floor of the building and our technology people are working around the clock to restore essential function," she said.

In the meantime, most administrators have been moved to the district's technology center.

"We did have to put some people at area places across the district," she said. "And right now we're working with Dane Electric to get things back on line."

Some administrative officials, she said, have set up offices in buildings across the district including a junior high school, and the old administration building.

Officials said the fire is still being investigated. About 21,000 students attend school in the Moore district, the third largest public school district in the state.
