Cole endorsed by National Right to Life Committee

Oklahoma Fourth District Congressman Tom Cole has been endorsed by the National Right to Life Political Action Committee.?

"We commend you for your 100 percent pro-life voting record during the 110th Congress," Executive Director Dr. David O'Steen wrote.?

O'Steen's letter endorsing Cole concluded by saying, "your strong pro-life record has earned you the support of all voters who are concerned with the right to life and the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family."

Cole said the country has a responsibility to protect unborn children.

"I believe the unborn child is one of the most innocent in this country and the government has a real responsibility to protect them.?Unborn children must no longer be seen by some as problems, burdens or inconveniences.? We must instead help people understand that unborn children deserve a chance at life."

OCA honors Sparks, Richardson

?State Senator John Sparks, D-Norman, and Representative Phil Richardson, R-Minco, were presented the OCA Legislative Appreciation Award during the recent 56th annual Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Convention and Trade Show.?

The award was established to recognize elected officials who support Oklahoma agriculture and are loyal to Oklahoma cattlemen and their needs.

Sparks, a native of Sulphur, now resides in Norman with his wife Beth and two sons. Sparks is a member of several committees including:?the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, Education, Finance, Retirement and Insurance Co-Chair, Veterans and Military Affairs and the Joint Committee on State-Tribal Relations.

Richardson, a Pocasset native, works as a farmer and veterinarian. He serves as the assistant majority whip, chairs the Environment and Wildlife Committee and is also part of the Education, Transportation and Natural Resources Committees.
