Westwood Water Park goes to the dogs from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 31.

Organizers expect a large number of dogs for the party, which benefits the Norman Community Dog Park.

"There will be a small pool, one of the three pools, reserved for the smaller dogs," said Betty Blatt, Norman Dog Park coordinator.

Registration is $5, with no reservation required. Dogs must have rabies tag and be in good health.

"We have a great volunteer team this year and expect a large group of dogs," Blatt said. "Dogs who choose not to swim play on the grassy area with other dogs."

Petco, Norman and Pet Cafe in Norman will have tables at the pool.

There will be nine medal winners this year, including awards like best swimmer and funniest swimmer and prizes in the raffle drawings.

Westwood Water Park is at Robinson Street and 24 Avenue NW, with the entrance near Carl's Jr. Restaurant.
