Contribution to vets' memorial tabled

A $50,000 contribution to the Cleveland County Veterans Memorial Project from the county was tabled by the board of commissioners Monday.
The board's counsel was ill and unable to attend the regular board meeting. It had been tabled Aug. 18.
The memorial, under construction on the south side of Reaves Park, is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 11, Veterans Day, organizers said.
Commissioners approved a $10,000 agreement with the Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency to provide money for the county's indigent burial program and other emergencies.
Sheriff's Captain Ed Miller reported a daily average of 177 prisoners in the Cleveland County Detention Center the week of Aug. 12 through Aug. 19. The year-to-year book-ins comparison for the week were 202 in 2008 and 160 in 2007.
