The Heart of Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross is accepting registration for the Cruisin' for a Cause benefit poker run.
"Motorcycle riders can not only take a ride in beautiful Garvin and Murray counties, but they can also raise money for disaster relief and other programs," said Diane Caribardi, Heart of Oklahoma Chapter development director.
The ride, set for Sept. 20, will start at 9 a.m. at Let's Ride Leather -- More, Highway 19 and Williams Street in Maysville. Participants who pre-register by Sept. 12 will receive an official Red Cross lapel pin. Participants can pre-register at www.archeartofok.org.
The entry fee is $25 and $10 for extra riders, Caribardi said.
Caribardi said the ride will take motorcyclists through the Arbuckle Mountains past the lush bottom farmland to a mountain overlook of Turner Falls. It will follow along the banks of the Washita River on a winding, tree-canopied road through Chickasaw National Park.
The ride ends at 3 p.m. at Wacker Park on North Walnut Street in Pauls Valley, she said. There will be two prizes given after the ride: Best Hand for $500 and Worst Hand for $250.
