Volunteer mediator training for the Oklahoma Dispute Resolution Program is scheduled this month.
The Oklahoma Dispute Resolution Program provides services to communities throughout Oklahoma, in both community and court related disputes. The Supreme Court of Oklahoma, Administrative Office of the Courts, oversees the 12 programs in Oklahoma. Each program trains and uses volunteers to act as mediators throughout the state.
Early Settlement-Norman operates through the City Attorney's Office and is funded by the City of Norman. A volunteer training has been scheduled for the Norman program and will be Sept. 13 and 20.
Those interested in assisting people with resolving disputes and who are willing to commit to one year of volunteer service with the Oklahoma Dispute Resolution Program may call Jayme Rowe, director of Early Settlement-Norman, at the city attorney's office at 217-7766 for an application.?
