— Seven educators to be inducted into hall of fame
Seven educators will be inducted into the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame Monday at the University of Oklahoma.
The induction ceremony is in conjunction with the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame Symposium. The symposium's guest speaker will be Dr. Bobby Moser, 2005 Hall of Fame inductee.
Moser oversees one of the largest adult, continuing education and extension programs in the nation as vice president for agricultural administration and university outreach at Ohio State University. He is also the founding leader of the American Distance Education Consortium.
The official home for the Hall of Fame is the University Outreach Oklahoma Center for Continuing Education (OCCE), Thurman J. White Forum Building. The Hall of Fame was established in 1995 and more than 200 educators have been inducted.
Inductees for the 2008 Induction Ceremony are:
· Hazel Benn, posthumous, colonel and creator of the voluntary education program within the United States Marine Corps
· Paulo Freire, posthumous, Brazilian philosopher, social activist and adult educator
· Paula Harbecke, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs, Regis College
· Richard Liles, Ed.D., professor emeritus, North Carolina State University
· Mortimer Neufville, Ph.D., executive vice president of the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges
· Michael Omolewa, professor, ambassador of the Permanent Delegation of Nigeria to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
· Thomas Sork, Ph.D., professor of adult education and associate dean of external programs and learning technologies in the Faculty of Education, University of British Columbia

Kerr to speak at Price College
Dr. Steve Kerr, senior advisor at Goldman Sachs, will discuss "Leadership in a Crazy, Complex World" in a free, public lecture Wednesday at the University of Oklahoma.
A question-and-answer session and reception will follow the lecture, which is set for 2 p.m. in Meacham Auditorium, Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave. The event is sponsored by OU's Price College of Business.?
Previously a managing director and Goldman Sach's chief learning officer, Kerr came to the company from General Electric, where for seven years he was vice president of corporate leadership development and chief learning officer, including responsibility for GE's renowned leadership education center at Crotonville.
Kerr has been on the business school faculties of Ohio State University, University of Michigan and University of Southern California, where he was dean of the faculty and director of the Ph.D. program.
