A Norman man will face an assault charge after he allegedly struck his girlfriend's father with a steel bar, then backed over him with an SUV while fleeing from the scene in the 100 block of East Johnson Street, according to police reports.
Robert Donovan Jolls, 33, was charged Friday in Cleveland County District Court with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
According to court documents, the victim was outside an SUV Aug. 11 in which his daughter was sitting in the passenger seat, telling her to get out of the vehicle because he "didn't like who she's been spending time with."
