The Friends of the Norman Library will hold its Fall Book Sale Oct. 25-27 at the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave. A preview for members only will be Oct. 24.
In preparation for the annual event, which benefits the Norman Public Library, the organization is looking for donations of good quality used books, audio and video tapes, CDs, DVDs, records, computer programs and prints. Donations should be taken to the library circulation desk. Pickup of large donations is available by arrangement. A receipt will be available for all donations.
Group and individual volunteers are needed before, during and after the sale. Starting Oct. 15, volunteers help prepare for the sale by sorting donations, stocking tables, boxing books or moving boxes. During the sale, cashiers, baggers and table stockers are needed. After the sale, volunteers box remaining books. Volunteers who work four hours or more may attend the volunteer pre-sale Oct. 23. Interested persons may contact the volunteer coordinator by phone at 321-4216 or via e-mail at lizwindes@cox.net.
After the public sale, the Friends will donate most of the remaining books (excluding collectibles) to qualified nonprofit organizations, libraries and educational institutions. Interested organizations should call the Friends of the Library at 360-4346 to apply.
