MOORE -- Moore's City Council authorized the sale of $7.4 million in general obligation bonds and approved more than $1.3 million in claims and expenditures during Monday's council meeting.

The bonds were approved by a 60 percent "yes" vote at the Nov. 4 general election.

Monday's action -- Resolution 662(08) -- authorized the sale of the first series of bonds. Proceeds from the sale would be used to make "improvements and upgrades" in various street projects around the city.

City Manager Steve Eddy said the remaining bonds will be sold in 2010 and 2011.

Eddy said city officials hope to receive bids on the first series of bonds by Dec. 1.

"We'll know what the bids are that day," he said.

In other action the council:

· Approved an $128,300 agreement with Enogex for lowering and relocation of an encroaching natural gas pipeline for the South Santa Fe Road widening project.

· Tabled a proposal which would have awarded a lease with T-Mobile Central for placement of a cellular telephone tower on city-owned park land near 1200 S. Bryant Avenue -- the south end of Veterans Memorial Park.

· Approved naming the "undeveloped park land" at NW 12 and Janeway the "Vivian Beatrice Parmele Park" in honor of the Parmele family, who donated a portion of the land to the city.

Acting as the Moore Public Works Authority, the council:

· Approved claims and expenditures totaling $155,350.

· Renewed an administrative service agreement with the C.L. Frates Company for a three year period. Under the agreement, the Frates Company will provide third-party administrative services for the city's health benefits program.

· Renewed an existing three-year agreement with Delta Dental of Oklahoma.
