Three Oklahoma City University students are competing in a scavenger hunt across six Frontier Country locations in a holiday television show airing this month.

\Frontier Country Marketing Association, central Oklahoma's multi-county tourism organization, produced the 30-minute "Frontier Country Christmas Challenge" to highlight Christmas events and attractions in central Oklahoma.

The holiday show also is available for free downloads from Cox Communication's FreeZone through Dec. 31 and is viewable on the Frontier Country Web site www.oktourism.com.

At each location, contestants Jerome Braggs of Oklahoma City, Jason Poorboy of Coweta and Lauren Rieger of Norman must participate in holiday activities in order to get their assignment clue to the next destination. At the end of their hunt they are tested on their memory of event details in order to win the grand prize.

The holiday show airs on:

Oklahoma City's Cox Channel 7 at 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 22 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 29.

Tulsa's Cox Channel 3 at 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 22 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 29.

Sherman/Ada's KTEN Channel 10 at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 11 and noon Nov. 29.

Meanwhile, TV viewers will be able to take the same online Challenge Quiz at www.oktourism.com and enter for their chance to win the grand prize.

The Frontier Country Christmas Challenge winner will receive a getaway package to Frontier Country worth $500, including a one-night stay at the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel and admission passes for four to tourist attractions such as Tiger Safari, Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, National Cowboy -- Western Heritage Museum, Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art, Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum, Oklahoma History Center, Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Science Museum Oklahoma, Harn Homestead Museum, National Softball Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma City National Memorial -- Museum.

"Our goal is to have a fun, modern, fast-paced reality show that is entertaining for TV viewers and educates them about holiday events and attractions in central Oklahoma," said Sherri Rogers, executive director of Frontier Country. "Hopefully this will encourage viewers to visit Frontier Country and get involved in the holiday events like our contestants did."
