For office No. 2 on the Board of Education for Dibble School District, an unexpired term, Ruben Ruiz Jr., 40, of Blanchard will run against Doug Gilleland Jr., 32, of Purcell. Ruiz ran against two others as a candidate last year for the school board office No. 3.

In the Blanchard School District, Ray Gomez, 69, of Blanchard is the only candidate for the five-year term of office No. 4. He ran against another candidate for office No. 3 last year.

Only one candidate filed for office No. 4's five-year term in the Newcastle School District -- Gary Knowles, 38, of Tuttle -- and in the Purcell School District -- Tracy Tompkins, 43, of Purcell.

The Mid-American Technology Center School District drew one candidate, Joe Ray, 55, of Wanette for the five-year term of office No. 5.

In the Byars School District, Ron Gaither, 60, of Byars was the only candidate for the unexpired term of office No. 1. No one filed a declaration of candidacy for the three-year term of office No. 2 in Byars.
