Felony charges were filed Wednesday against a Norman man, accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman Nov. 13 while attempting to recover a stolen vehicle.
Phillip Marcus Wiygul, 54, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and forcible sodomy. A warrant was issued for Wiygul's arrest, requesting he be held on $500,000 bond.
According to police, Wiygul took a woman from Oklahoma City to his residence in the 200 block of Telstar Street, threatening on the way to use a sledgehammer to smash her feet unless she helped recover a car stolen from him the previous week. At the residence, he allegedly told her to begin making phone calls, while asking her how she wanted to die.
The victim told police Wiygul began making a 15-minute "countdown" to when he planned to shoot her, while pulling out trash bags and a canvas tarp. The defendant allegedly pointed a gun at the victim's head, telling her he planned to chop her up after killing her. The threats continued for about an hour, at which time Wiygul allegedly took the victim into his bedroom, made her undress and sexually assaulted her.
The victim said Wiygul let her go about the time police arrived, telling her he had to make sure she had nothing to do with the theft of his car.
Also Wednesday, two men were charged in connection with Monday's armed robbery of the Game Stop in Moore.
Christopher Wayne Franklin, 24, Moore, was charged with robbery with firearms and knowingly concealing stolen property; and Jack Rufus Clark, 19, Oklahoma City, was charged with knowingly concealing stolen property.
According to police, the Game Stop at 117 E. Main St. was robbed by a gunman at about 12:30 p.m. The robber demanded cash from the safe, video equipment worth about $1,000, the clerk's cell phone and the store's surveillance tape. Witnesses gave a description of a car seen leaving the scene, and Clark was stopped by police around Southwest 19th Street and Interstate 35. Police said Clark had the cell phone taken in the robbery.
Franklin was arrested a short time later at a Moore apartment. Police said they recovered everything but the cash, surveillance tape and the gun used in the robbery.
Other felonies filed Wednesday include:
· Gary Lynn Shores, 43, Moore, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon;
· Michael Shane Kuepker, 34, omitting to provide for a child;
· Omar Granadas, 20, Oklahoma City, two counts of knowingly concealing stolen property; second-degree burglary; and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
