Bethany Christen Upchurch, Olympia, Wash., and Cale Myers, Onalaska, Wash., have announced plans for a Jan. 2, 2010, wedding in Maui, Hawaii.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Doug and Denise Upchurch of Norman. She is a 2000 graduate of Norman North High school and received her associates degree from Oklahoma City Community College in 2007. She is employed at the Mini Skool Early Learning Center in Lacey, Wash., as a pre-school teacher.

The prospective groom is the son of Gary and Linda Myers of Greeley, Colo. He is a 2002 graduate of Dayspring Christian Academy in Greeley. He earned his bachelor of science degree in ecology from Idaho State University in 2006 and is completing work on his master's degree in wildlife management from Humboldt State University, Arcata, Calif. He just finished working in a temporary position with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and is testing for a permanent position as a Washington State Park Ranger.
