NORMAN — Fifty years ago on Feb. 2, 1964, Bill and Judy Bray were married before many friends and family members in Norman at the home of Judy’s mother and father, Dewey C. and Martha Naomi Stewart.
Bill is the oldest son of Bill and Reina Bray, who lived in Denver at the time. Judy graduated from Norman High School in 1962.
Bill was in the U.S. Naval Security Group stationed on Guam Mariana Island and traveled more than 10,000 miles to Norman for the wedding.
After the wedding, Judy returned to Denver to live with Bill’s parents to await moving to Guam. After returning from the service, Bill and Judy chose Norman as their home and have lived here ever since.
The couple’s marriage was blessed with three sons, Bill D. and Tanya Bray of Norman, Greg and Miki Bray of Wichita, Kan., and Chris and Lily Bray of Norman. The couple’s oldest son, Bill and wife Tanya, blessed them with two wonderful grandsons, Ashton Bray and Brandon Bray. Brandon was born on Bill and Judy’s 34th wedding anniversary.
Judy received her real estate broker license and managed a large property management company until her retirement in 2000.
Bill worked for Sherwin Williams as a store manager until he entered the real estate field in 1970 and is still active in the real estate business with Weichert Realtors-Centennial in Norman.
