NORMAN — Kelly Nicole Guthrie and Grant Michael Knutson, both of Washington, D.C., were married Nov. 2, 2013, at Dahlgren Chapel of the Sacred Heart at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Father Stephen Spahn, SJ, presided over the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dana and Patti Guthrie, of Norman, and Anthony and Holly McKinney, of Boston. She is the granddaughter of the late Lt. Col. (Ret AF) James F. Lynch, of Vancouver, Wash., and Loretta Powers Lynch, of Norman, and the late Wanda Graham of Wayne, Flora Martin of Boston, Jerry Graham of Wayne and Sherry Lynch of La Center, Wash. She is a graduate of Norman High School in Norman, Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C., and George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she obtained her master’s degree in international development. She is a program assistant at the U.S. Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C.
The groom is the son of Geraldine and Roger Knutson, of Brighton, Colo. He is the grandson of the late Roger and Peggy Knutson and Paul and Mary Aguilar. He is a graduate of Brighton High School in Brighton and the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colo. He is finishing his Master in Business Administration at Georgetown University.
The bride wore a Martina Liana gown. The A-line gown featured alencon lace with Parisian silk chiffon accents and a sweetheart neckline. It was a champagne lace, oyster gown with vintage beading, champagne frills around the bottom and a champagne sash.
The bride carried a bouquet of peach Juliet garden roses, peach ranunculus, spray roses, mini echivera and coral charm peonies.
Her fathers escorted her down the aisle to “Canon in D Major.”
The bride’s maid of honor was her cousin, Melanie Newcomer, of Norman. Her bridesmaids included Courtney Koehn, of Tulsa, Danielle Pavela Coe, of San Francisco, Rebeca Martinez, of Cabarete, Dominican Republic, and Cole Harbert, of Birmingham, Ala.
Honorary bridesmaids and longtime friends included Betsy Tekell Carroll, of San Francisco, Emily Bryant Allam, of Bangkok, Thailand, Emily Venk Cook, of Dallas, Erin McCall Herrmann, of Chicago, Jessi Carter Arnold, of Norman, Gina Gaston Gress, of Tucson, Ariz., Kayla Barnes Burrows, of Tulsa, Megan Heatly Eskridge, of Norman, and Evan English Barnes, of Norman.
Readers included Lindley Thomas, of Philadelphia and Roselane Miller, of Washington, D.C.
Best man was the groom’s brother, Ryan Knutson of Denver.
Groomsmen included Andrew Parrott, of Denver, Prashanta Aryal, of Broomfield, Colo., Adam Brown, of Alexandria, Va., and Kunaal Bellara, of Washington, D.C.
Ushers included the bride’s brothers Andrew Guthrie, of Norman, John McKinney, of Malibu, Calif., and Conner McKinney of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Flower girl was Zaila Harrison, daughter of Roselane Miller and Duane Harrison.
The reception was at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs in the City View Room. A horse-drawn carriage awaited them as they left the reception for a night carriage ride around D.C.’s monuments.
The couple will continue to reside in the Adam Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C., and will take a two-week honeymoon vacation through Italy in May 2014.
