NORMAN — Kathleen Ellen Chaplin and Lt. Dawid Adam Grzybowski were united in marriage Jan. 17, 2014, at Thunderbird Chapel. The Rev. Brandon Kalicki officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of James and Barbara Chaplin, of Noble. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Russian language.

The groom is the son of Janusz Grzybowski, of Krakow, Poland, and Elizabeth Cerrudo, of Chicago. He graduated with special distinction from OU in December 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in communication. He was commissioned in May 2013 as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

Music during the ceremony was performed by guitarist Dan Kyzer. Songs include “Prelude” from Cello Suite 1, “The Servant Song” for the bridal processional and “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.”

The bride wore a champagne satin ball gown with Illusion neckline, tulle overlay, lace flower appliques and a Swarovski crystal belt. She wore champagne ballet flats with chiffon and crystal flowers. Completing the ensemble was a cathedral-length veil with lace embellishments.

She carried a cascading bouquet of white orchids, peach roses, white tulips and eucalyptus.

Matron of honor was Abigail Chaplin-Kyzer, of Corinth, Texas.

Best man was Sgt. Chris Sagert, of Spokane, Wash.

A reception was hosted at Thunderbird Chapel and catered by Emilio Salinas.   Reception assistant was Rebekah Cornwell.

Out-of-town guests included Wojciech Grzyb, of New York City; Jerry Lowry, of Aloha, Ore.; Susan Lowry, of Greenland, N.H.; Dr. and Mrs. Michael Lowry, of Chesterton, Ind.; and Jennifer Kiskin, of Austin, Texas.

The couple plan a honeymoon to San Juan Puerto Rico in December. The couple resides in Norman.
