NORMAN — On Sept. 29, 2012, family members and close friends witnessed Pastor Rocky Walker perform an intimate ceremony uniting Morgen Rachelle Moxley, daughter of Chris and Laura Moxley, and Gareth Trevor Williams, son of Dr. T. H. Lee and Naïla Williams. The ceremony was especially touching because Pastor Walker had dedicated Morgen as a baby.
The outdoor ceremony took place at OU’s Jimmie Austin Golf Club in Norman. The steady rain fell gently, creating a beautiful ambiance as guests were seated to the classical music of harpist Jill Justice, accompanied by Joel McClung on the fiddle. Grandparents and parents were seated to a traditional Irish melody, “Gentle Maid,” and a traditional Gaelic melody was played during the processional.
Serving as maid of honor was Megan Reynolds, of Norman, and best man was Benjamin Smith, of Norman. Bridesmaids were Samantha Kahoe, sister of the groom, of Norman; Lindsey Williams, sister-in-law of the groom, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Lauren Freie, cousin of the bride, of Norman; Megan Cash, of Oklahoma City; Lyndsey Jones, of Oklahoma City; Megan McCaffrey, of Boulder, Colo.; Kathryn Huddleston, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Krissy Anderson, of Norman; and Katharine Giffhorn, of Tulsa.
Groomsmen were Owen-John Williams, Capt. USAF, brother of the groom, of Colorado Springs; Todd Kahoe, brother-in-law of the groom, of Norman; C. Jorden Moxley, brother of the bride, of Norman; John Hill, of Norman; Brian Knotts, of Dallas; Jay Huff, Houston; Philip Schroedter, of Tulsa; Taylor Huff, of Houston; and Seellan Sivanesan, of Edmond.
The bride walked from the clubhouse down the pathway that was lined with white balloons on the arm of her father to “Canon in D” by Pachelbel.
Standing against a background of white Asian lanterns and an archway made of curly willow tree that was decorated with mason jars and flowers of all different colors, Morgen and Gareth exchanged vows that they had written for each other.
