NORMAN — Margaret “Maggie” Lee Pierce and John William English exchanged wedding vows June 22, 2013, at All Souls Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City. The Rev. Patrick Bright, the Rev. Dale Petley and the Rev. John Marlin officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Lisa Davis Pierce and Mark Hamilton Pierce, of Nichols Hills.
The groom is the son of Linda English Weeks, of Norman, and Bill J. English, of Rush Springs.
The bride is a graduate of Casady School and the University of Oklahoma. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and teaches fourth grade at Will Rogers Elementary School in Edmond.
The groom is a graduate of Norman High School and the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He is a sales representative with the Agility Medical Group in Oklahoma City.
Music during the wedding was performed by the Tulsa Boy Singers. Music during the reception was performed by the SoulSations from Memphis, Tenn.
For her wedding, the bride chose a gown by designer Elizabeth Fillmore. The Baroque pattern of the fabric was reminiscent of lace but was laser-cut satin. The modified sweetheart neckline was V-shape and the laser-cut satin was scalloped. The trumpet-shaped gown had a long train. To complete her bridal look, she chose an Alencon lace veil.
The bride’s bouquet was a cascade of white orchids. The bridesmaids carried calla lilies. The church was decorated in a combination of calla lilies and white orchids.
Maid of honor was Bess Fuller.
Bridesmaids were Kelly Johnson, Evan Barnes, Randi McLain, Keelie Montague, Ashley McCubbin, Leslie Stone, Katie McGuire, Amanda Blackman and Marissa Camp.
Best man was Matt Carter.
Groomsmen were Jordan Landreth, Mark H. Pierce II, Matthew Pierce, Brian Smith, Spencer Simon, Ricky Pourchot, Andrew Edwards, Bobby Spain and Sean Cates
Ushers were Jon Godsy, Michael Gray, Patrick Fields, Jordan Mitchell and Dane Covey.
Flower girl was Mason Reddell.
Ring bearer was Oliver Olney.
House party included Jordanna Sutton, Emily O’Shaughnessy, Sarah Emery and Janell Fryer.
Reader was Jaclyn Dennis.
A reception took place at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. The country club was transformed using a blue party theme with ice sculptures including an ice bar and ice floral vases.
The multi-tiered wedding cake mirrored the floral themes, and the groom’s cake nodded to the OU Sooners.
Following a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, the couple resides in Oklahoma City.
