NORMAN — June 10, 2013, was the date of the 65th wedding anniversary of Harry and Nina Hopkins.
They were surprised by their family at a dinner brought into their home on June 10.
Their family consists of Neil and Ann Hopkins of Edmond, Carl and Karee Hopkins of Edmond, Anita and Jay Neal of Blanchard, Paul and Kellie Hopkins of Norman and 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
They met at the movie theater in Blanchard when they were in junior high. They were married June 10, 1948, soon after their graduation at age 17 and 18.
They have lived in Norman for 59 years and have been active members of First Baptist Church the entire time.
Nina was with J.C. Penney Co. until they opened Nina’s Hallmark Shop in Normandy Creek.
Harry was at Norman Municipal Hospital (now Norman Regional Hospital), Health South Rehabilitation Hospital and First Fidelity Bank during his working days.
They are both retired and enjoying their wonderful family.
