NORMAN — Julie Elizabeth Patrick and Brian Eugene Carlson exchanged wedding vows July 12, 2013, on the beach in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., at Water Color Inn and Resort, with the Pastor Samuel Blowes officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Laurie and Larry Patrick, of Norman. She is the granddaughter of Mary Ann Stewart, of Durant, and Ed Stewart, of College Station, Texas, and Jessie Lea Patrick and the late Frank Patrick, of Sherman, Texas.
The groom is the son of Judy and Bruce Carlson, of Billings, Mont. He is the grandson of Beverly Friman and the late Durwood Friman, of Great Falls, Mont., and Kathy Carlson and the late Gene Carlson, of Pasco, Wash.
The bride was escorted by her father to the steel drum accompaniment of “Canon in D.” Her Allure ivory lace gown featured a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice with lightly beaded straps, scalloped hem with satin-covered buttons down the back and extending the length of the train. The ivory fingertip veil was trimmed with crystals. She wore a strand of pearls given to her mom by her dad on the day she was born for something sentimental.
The bride carried a tropical bouquet of hydrangeas, calla lilies, cabbage roses, green cymbidium orchids, green hypericum berries, fuji mums, with stems wrapped in ivory ribbon. In the bouquet was a locket with a picture of her late grandfather, Frank Patrick.
The bridesmaids wore sleeveless watermelon pink, knee-length chiffon dresses and carried a smaller tropical bouquet similar to the brides.
The groom and groomsmen wore dark charcoal suits with the Caribbean blue striped neck ties. Their boutonnieres were green cymbidium orchids with hypericum berries.
The wedding party attendants were matron of honor Lindsay Schlueter Freeman, of Dallas, and maid of honor Katie Blum, of New York City.
The bridesmaids were Lauren Landreth, of Atlanta, and Michele Lesseg, of Edmond.
Scripture reading was by Amy Patrick, of Oklahoma City.
Best men were Jesse Carlson and Chris Carlson, of Billings, Mont.
Groomsmen were Brandon Patrick, of Oklahoma City, and Tyler Thomas, of Boise, Idaho. Junior best man was William Carlson, of Billings, Mont.
Following the beach ceremony, guests celebrated with dinner from Fish Out of Water and dancing at the Water Color Inn Resort, with music provided by B Boy Productions.
A rehearsal dinner for the wedding party was hosted by the parents of the groom, Judy and Bruce Carlson. They also hosted a cocktail party welcoming all of the wedding guests.
A bridesmaid brunch was hosted by Kathy Blum in The Wine Room of Fish Out of Water.
Wedding showers and events include a work-related reception given by Mark and Jan Mazzolini, of Oklahoma City.
A shower on the patio of Flint Restaurant, Oklahoma City, was given by Marilyn Baker, Katie McDonnell and Michele Lesseg.
An “I Do” barbecue and couples shower was hosted in the home of Kathy and Bill Blum. Other hosts were Susan and Floyd Bergen, Katie Blum, Vicki and Bryce Dorrough, Donna and Dale Hughes, Barbara and George Landreth, Lauren Landreth, Chris and Gary Purcell, Diana and Val Schlueter, Lindsay and CJ Freeman and Mary Ann and Jake Tullius.
After a honeymoon to Anguilla, British West Indies, the couple resides in Edmond.
The bride is a regulatory analyst with Devon Energy, and the groom is a land supervisor with Devon Energy.
