Advance Auto Parts, Inc., a leading automotive aftermarket retailer of parts, batteries, accessories and maintenance items, has announced the opening of its first store in Moore at 1330 N. Eastern Ave.

Company officials said they chose this location ? near 12th Street across from Crest Foods ? for the 7,000-square-foot store because it's convenient for customers and because of the area's growing number of "do-it-yourselfers" taking care of their vehicles.

Wade Jarvis is the new store's manager and works with 12 other team members there. A 16-year veteran of the automotive and retail sales industries, Jarvis recently joined the Advance Auto Parts team. He is ASE-certified, having passed stringent testing of his automotive knowledge by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.

The new store offers customers several free services. Store team members will install windshield wipers for free and also install batteries following a complimentary check of the vehicle's electrical system and old battery. The store offers fast parts delivery to local commercial customers, such as professional mechanics and garages. Customers also can drop off used motor oil and batteries for recycling ? ensuring that these materials don't end up in landfills where they could harm the environment.

More than 120 brochures take drivers step-by-step through a variety of projects; video "how-to" clinics are broadcast regularly in the store on AdvanceTV, the company's exclusive in-store network. Also as part of the consumer education program, the company's Web site, AdvanceAutoParts.com, offers articles, videos and i-Pod downloads in the Web site's "Advance Know-How" section.

"These free consumer education tools, and the expert advice the new store's 12 team members provide, help customers keep their vehicles looking good and running well," said Keith White, division manager for Advance Auto Parts. "The right parts at the right price are as important as the right advice and educational tools to finish the job."

The Moore location is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Other area stores include locations at 2116 Northwest Cache Road and 1001 Southwest Lee Boulevard in Lawton; 11126 S. Memorial Drive in Bixby; 3105 S. Garnett Road in Tulsa; 1000 N. Aspen Avenue in Broken Arrow; 10713 E. 86th Street North in Owasso; 800 N. York Street in Muskogee; and 4205 Jacksboro Highway and 4905 Southwest Parkway in Wichita Falls, Texas.
