County will remove limbs

By Peggy Laizure

Cleveland County Commissioners asked assistant district attorney David Batton to draft a resolution for roadside limb removal in the unincorporated area caused by the recent ice storm. Commissioner Rusty Sullivan said the county will remove the limbs through April 30.

He also said there is a stockpile of mulch at the district 3 barn that residents are welcome to have.

Sunbelt Equipment Supply received a bid of $33,466.40 for materials to repair a bridge over Buckhead Creek in Southern Cleveland County east of 120th Avenue and Duffy Street.

After the meeting Sullivan said the bridge was damaged during the floods of 2007.

Commissioners approved a contract with K -- R Builders Inc. to build a bridge also over Buckhead Creek on Edge of the Earth Road between 156th and 180th avenues. Sullivan said the county has an Interlocal agreement with the Absentee Shawnee tribe and the tribe will fund the bridge.

"This will not cost the residents of Cleveland County anything," he said.

Commissioners signed an agreement with Honeywell Building Solutions to provide assessments and recommendations for the server rooms and temperature control systems for the courthouse and all county buildings.

Sullivan had asked for a study last year to see where changes could be made to make the offices more energy efficient.

Christina Morren was appointed requesting officer for various commissioner office accounts and will be the receiving officer for other commissioner accounts.

The January reports of David Tinsley, county assessor; Tammy Howard, county clerk; Rhonda Hall, court clerk; Paula Roberts, election board secretary; Joseph Lester, county sheriff; and Saundra DeSelms, county treasurer; were approved.
