NORMAN — “In a community as wonderful as this one, no one should be hungry or alone on Thanksgiving,” said April Doshier, executive director of Food and Shelter.
Food and Shelter will once again partner with the City of Norman, Salvation Army, Community Action and United Way to serve a community Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day in The Commons at Norman High School. Anyone is welcome to attend.
The agencies are requesting assistance from volunteers to help cook and serve food as well as deliver Thanksgiving meals to the Meals on Wheels participants.
“We also need donations of items like pies and cakes, dinner rolls and drinks to help make this a wonderful, comforting experience,” said Doshier.
Anyone interested in volunteering or donating any of the items listed can call Food and Shelter at 360-4954.
