Holiday Gala ahead
Noble is ramping up for its second annual Holiday Gala, scheduled 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Noble Public Library.

  • K.I.D. Elementary students to participate in world record attempt
    NOBLE -- Students at Katherine I. Daily Elementary will attempt to help set a Guinness World Record Thursday by sport stacking.
    The fourth annual event will be in nearly 1,500 schools and is sanctioned by the Guinness Book of World Records.

    NOBLE -- An ongoing dispute between a veteran who uses a wheelchair and the city continues.
    Donald Vowell, a decorated war veteran with 22 years of military service, has been formally asked by the police not to ride recklessly in his wheelchair on the streets in Noble or he will receive a citation.

  • Noble library to host scrapbookers Tuesday
    "Fall into Scrapbooking," a hands-on workshop for adults, will be 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Noble Public Library, 204 N. Fifth.
    All supplies are provided. Space is limited for the free event, so registration is required.

  • Silent auction to benefit Adopt-a-Child
    NOBLE -- Each year, in conjunction with Hubbard Elementary's fall carnival, a silent auction benefiting the Adopt-a-Child program is held. This year's carnival and auction will be held Oct. 23 in the Hubbard Elementary gym from 6 p.

  • Slaughterville close to getting Dollar General Store
    SLAUGHTERVILLE -- The town of Slaughterville has been approached by Dollar General to build a store there.
    A request was made to the town council to rezone a parcel of land along Highway 77 across from the Old Town Country Store to be used as a retail site.

  • Outages necessary to repair broken pole
    A two-minute electrical outage at midnight Friday was planned, and was necessary for repair work related to a transmission pole that was broken recently, OG--E spokesperson Sandra Longcrier told The Transcript.

  • Spaghetti Dinner scheduled Thursday
    The Slaughterville Fire Dept Auxiliary will hold a fundraiser spaghetti dinner 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the fire station at Highway 77 and Slaughterville Road. Advance tickets are available at the station and from members.
