Poised for growth
The Noble Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee met recently to discuss the many potential commercial property sites that have become available for sale.
"With the new golf course facility going in on the east side of Highway 77 just north of Noble, we believe we are poised for some real growth," said Robin Stead, a local attorney and chamber board member.
"There's always something exiting going on in Noble," she said.
Stead reports that a new business recently opened on Main Street specializing in alternative therapy, herbs, vitamins, weight management and massage therapy. A smoothie bar is available at the site. Additionally, O'Reilly's Auto Parts will open soon.
Noble received a sidewalk grant which paved the way for construction of new trails and a pavilion at Ken King Park. A disc golf group is spearheading work on a new disc golf course at the park and they are currently looking for sponsors for the holes.
"If we can get a sanctioned disc golf course, we can host tournaments," Stead said.
In addition to the Ken King Park project, construction on the Safe Routes to School sidewalk is slated to begin in the futire. The sidewalk project will connect several local schools and parks.
Noble Public Schools and the Noble Wellness Committee just completed their Noble Healthy Youth and Wellness Screening event. Students in Pre-K through fifth grade were screened for dental, hearing, vision, scoliosis and vital statistics. Healthy Kids Wellness Grams will be sent to parents of each child tested.
Early next year, the schools are sponsoring a Noble Farm to School Day where students will learn how food gets from the farm to their plate.
