NORMAN — Memorial services for Bobby Gene Pitts, 84, of Noble, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Covenant Church in Noble.
Bobby Gene Pitts was born Aug. 1, 1929, in Okfuskee County to Earnest A. and Emma Carroll Pitts. He attended Excelsior Schools and College in Tishomingo.
Bob served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. Returning home to Oklahoma, he spent most of his working life with the U.S. Postal Service, including the positions of postmaster and rural carrier in Noble. He retired in August 1984.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters.
Bob leaves behind one son, David Pitts of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Tana Lievsay of Oklahoma City and Darla Holmes of Kellyville; one sister, Wilma Claxton of Norman; seven grandchildren, Reyna Lievsay, Michael Pitts, Kayla Lievsay, Devon Arredondo, Rachael Pitts, Sierra Holmes and Hunter Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
