NORMAN — Douglas Ronal Lansdale died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 62 years, five months and four days.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Douglas was born April 5, 1951, in Purcell to Benjamin and Neva (Perry) Lansdale. He was raised in the Purcell/Wayne area, graduating from Purcell around 1968.

On Feb. 20, 1970, he married Clara Tucker in Norman. Douglas worked as an auto mechanic for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, working on cars and playing dominos, cards and billiards. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Douglas was of the Baptist faith.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Neva Lansdale; and siblings Annie Buchanan, Linda Stone, Stella Folks, Burl Lansdale, Bobby Lansdale and Albert Lansdale.

Survivors include his wife, Clara of the home; sons Douglas Lansdale Jr. of Wanette, Richard and Cammey Lansdale of Purcell and Christopher Lansdale of Oklahoma City; siblings Raymond and Helen Lansdale of Purcell, Roy and Marie Lansdale of Norman and Perry Lansdale of Weatherford; grandchildren Cassandra, Elizabeth, Kara, Lilly and Dominic; and many other relatives and friends.
