NORMAN — James Franklin Ward Sr., 62, of Noble, passed away March 17 at the V.A. Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born to Jesse and Susie (Dismukes) Ward on Oct. 21, 1950 in Blackwell.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at McMahans Funeral Chapel in Noble with Pastor Bud Wolf officiating.
He moved with his family to the Ada area and attended school at Latta. He then enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1969. He re-enlisted in 1973 while doing two tours of duty in Vietnam. He received an Honorable Discharge after 14 years of duty.
He moved to Noble in 1998 and married Julie Gibson. They made their home in Noble until his death.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Those who survive him include his mother, Susie Ward of Noble; his wife, Julie Ward of the home; four sons, Billy, Jesse, Jack and James Jr.; a daughter, Laura Ward; three brothers, Joel, Melvin and Thomas; four sisters, Tricia Wolf and husband Bud of Noble, Melva Pyles, Joyce Cavins and Kay Phillips; and six grandchildren.
Interment will be at Banner Cemetery with military honor guard by the U.S. Marine Corps.
