NORMAN — Evelene Peltier, 86, of Norman, passed away Saturday evening, March 16, 2013, at the Holiday Heights Nursing Home in Norman. Evelene was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Lexington, the daughter of Ben and Dora (Hill) Graham.

Services for Evelene will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Havenbrook Funeral Home chapel, 3401 Havenbrook St. in Norman.

Evelene was raised in Cleveland County, where she attended country schools. She lived in Noble for more than 30 years before moving to Norman in 1993. Evelene was employed as a housekeeper for the University of Oklahoma for 12 years, retiring in 1987. She also worked for Clark’s Cleaners of Norman for many years.

During her retirement, Evelene surrounded herself with what she loved the most: her family, her church and listening to gospel music. She was a simple lady with an incredible faith and commitment to Jesus Christ and her children. She was happiest when she was with her family and worshiping in her church.

Evelene was a member of the Riverlife Church of God in Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil Woods in March 1982; her husband, Gene Peltier in July 2004; two daughters, Virginia Woods in November 1972 and Roberta Woods in December 1975; two sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include her two sons, John Woods and his wife Joyce of Norman and Jeff Peltier; one daughter, Deborah Allred and her husband Ralph of Hugo; four grandchildren, John Paul Woods of Norman, Jim Allred of Norman, Stacy Allred of Hugo and Ralph Allred Jr. of Hugo; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements for Evelene and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
