Paul T. Pope

NORMAN — Paul T. Pope, 86, of Norman, passed away May 13, 2013. He was born June 2, 1926, in Mountain View, to Paul and Eretta Pope.

Paul retired in 1989 after 42 years of service working for the U.S. Postal Service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Paul was an avid bowler and had bowled for more than 25 years. He was a huge OU Sooner fan. Paul enjoyed spending time in the garden.

He is survived by his son, Richard Pope and wife Sandra; daughter, Valerie Jury and husband Randy; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Pope, Marquetta Funderburk, Nickolas Durant, Adrianne Durant, Shelby Jury and Riley Jury; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Pipes; and two nieces, LaGina Phillips and Julie Nebgen.

Paul was preceded in death by his daughter, Angelia Peck; and his parents Paul and Eretta Pope.

Visitation was from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. today at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway in Moore. Interment to follow at Denver Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
