Shirley Jean Space

NORMAN — Shirley Jean Space was born to Carl and Oda (Stapp) McCraw on Dec. 19, 1940, in Pink. She departed this life Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the age of 72 years.

Shirley was a lifetime resident of the Norman area. She attended school in Tecumseh. On June 1, 1961, she and Earnest C. Space were united in marriage in Norman. She made her career working side by side with her husband as his secretary for Ernie’s Plumbing and Heating. Shirley enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles, going on shopping sprees at Walmart and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earnest in 2004; daughter, Paula Hysell in 1996; brother, Wayne McCraw; and two sisters, Geneva McCraw and Pauline Shockley.

She is survived by one daughter, Carla Privett and husband Charles of Noble; two brothers, Dwain McCraw and wife Patty of Noble and Charles McCraw of Noble; three grandchildren, Jason Hysell and wife Stephanie, Gregory Privett and wife Brittany and Chad Privett; six grandchildren, Isis, Jacob, Paige, Cara, Wayne and Harley; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at McMahans Funeral chapel.

Interment will be in Noble IOOF Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Services are directed by McMahans Funeral Home.
