Lupe ‘Jane’ Garcia

NORMAN — Lupe “Jane” Garcia, 84, a retired sheet metal assembly work for mor than 25 years at Cessna, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.

Jane was a longtime and devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a life member of Sheet Metal Assembly at Cessna. She enjoyed many bus trips and casino outings with her sister, Donna Duran (who survives her); the two were inseparable.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vecenta and Julia Martinez; loving husband of 60 years, Julian “Joe;” son, David; five brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Mike Garcia (Brenda) of Wichita, Kan.; daughter, Dr. Julia Irwin ( Dr. Derek) of Norman; son, aerospace engineer Dan Garcia (Susan) of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Donna Duran of Wichita; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be 7:30 .pm. today. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, both at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 145 S. Millwood, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
