NORMAN — Ruth “Louise” Ayers went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. She was born June 7, 1927, in Campbell, Calif., to Joseph and Violet Park.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; beloved husband of 52 years, Authray “Pete” Ayers; and brothers Gary Park and Lynn Park.
She is survived by her son, Steve Ayers and his wife Christina; grandchildren Stephanie Sands and Scott Ayers and their spouses Greg Sands and Lindsay Ayers; and four great-grandchildren, Cade, Reese, Hudson and Harrison Sands. She is also survived by her sister, Kathryn Jackson; brother, James Park; sisters Patty Laranjo and Maryann Heck; her sister-in-law, Sylvia Park; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She spent countless hours with her family, primarily focusing on the interests of her son, Steve. She was an active member of the Norman Ladies Golf and Tennis Associations and enjoyed exercising, bowling and playing cards with her friends and family. She was a devoted wife and mother and treasured her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
