NORMAN — Arkey Helen (Price) Norman, 80, went to be with her Savior on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in Norman. She passed away from complications of a debilitating stroke after a 13-year struggle. Helen was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Ada, to Virgil O. and Amy (Crawford) Price. She grew up in Byng, and graduated from Ada High School.
Helen graduated from dental assistant school and served as a dental assistant for 15 years in Norman for Dr. James Skinner and Dr. John Miles before joining her husband, Bill, at Pioneer Telephone Company, where she was employed for 13 years before her retirement. Helen was generous with her time and loved serving others. She was a dedicated volunteer at Norman Regional Hospital and the Bethel Baptist Church Pre-School and Bus Ministry. She also was very active in the Norman Christian Women.
On Feb. 8, 1952, Helen married William “Bill” Eugene Favors, of Madill, in Asbury Park, N.J., while Bill was serving in the United States Army. Helen and Bill had two children, Stephen Eugene and Denisa Ann, both of Norman. Helen and Bill were married for 35 years before Bill’s passing in September 1987.
In April 1996, Helen married her second husband, B.A. Norman, in Eureka Springs, Ark. while residing in Norman. Helen and B.A. enjoyed time with family and traveled until Helen was stricken by a stroke following surgery in December 2000. B.A. was a loving companion and faithful servant to Helen until his death in August 2013.
Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a great prayer warrior for all those in need of prayer. Helen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sailing, traveling and helping others. She will be missed by her family and friends, who look forward to the day when they can join her in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, William Favors; and her second husband, B.A. Norman.
